Smarter Feed, Better Search, Overhauled Commenting!

Hey everyone! We just pushed a massive new update, and we're super excited for you to get your hands on it. We've been listening closely to your feedback, and this update is completely focused on making it easier to find the content you love and connect with the community.

The Big Stuff

  • Smarter Recommendations: We completely rebuilt how your feed works. You can now pick your favorite genres, so you'll only see the stuff you actually care about. Pressing "not interested" and what you interact with also play a role in what you are recommended. You can expect much more personalized content after this update!

  • Way Better Search: Looking for something specific? You can finally search by tags, creators, or even specific characters! This way you can find what you are actually trying to find!

  • Live Comments: The comments section got a huge upgrade. It now updates live (with typing and online indicators!), you get instant notifications for replies, and you can finally edit your comments. No more sending a second message just to fix a typo!

Other Cool Tweaks & Fixes

  • More Tags & Smart Suggestions: We added a ton of new tags to help sort things out. Plus, if you make scenarios, the creator tool will now suggest tags for you so you don't have to scroll through hundreds of them. Lastly, ODIN now checks tag relevance so creators can only use tags that represent the story they made.

  • Safe Rewinding: We added a quick confirmation pop-up when you hit rewind. No more accidental rewinds due to misclicks!

  • Better Blocking (1/2): Blocked scenarios are now completely hidden from your Featured section. The block functionality will be further expanded in the near future.

  • Safari Chat Fix: We fixed that annoying Safari glitch where hitting "load more messages" would throw you all the way back to the bottom of the chat.

  • Fixed Preferences: We fixed a bug where the content preferences were always sorting by both cover and story in some pages. This is now fixed.

  • Prettier Pop-ups: Our little pop-up notifications got a much-needed fresh coat of paint.

  • General UI Improvements: We have improved the look of different parts of the platform to bring them up to current standards.

  • Faster Loading Times: We know waiting isn't fun, so we're working hard behind the scenes to speed things up! We're boosting our server capacity so everything loads much faster. It’s still a bit of a work in progress, but expect things to get even smoother over the next few days. Thanks for hanging in there with us!

FictionLab Update: Apple Login, Better Feeds, & Bug Fixes

Hey everyone! We just rolled out a new update for FictionLab. This one is mostly focused on fixing bugs behind the scenes, but we added a few cool features to make your everyday experience smoother.

The Big Highlights

  • Apple Login is working: You can finally use your Apple account to sign in. We know a lot of you were waiting for this, so thank you for your patience!

  • Curate your feed: We added a "Not Interested" button to scenario pages. If you see a scenario you do not want to see, just click this option from the dot menu. It will hide the scenario from your feed so you can find more of what you actually like.

Quality of Life Changes

  • Better view counts: If your user page hits the big leagues, the view counter now shows decimals (for example, 1.2M instead of just 1M).

  • Sign-in loading state: We added a loading screen when you log in. Now you will know the app is actually thinking!

  • New creator intro: Brand new users will now see a helpful welcome introduction when they visit the Create page.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a frustrating issue where the customization menu would not load all of the fields.

  • Squashed several smaller bugs. This includes fixing a funny glitch where the system allowed you to block yourself!

Easy Image Gen & Chimera Released!

Hey everyone! We have some massive news for you today. We want to make creating on FictionLab as fun and simple as possible, and this update is a huge step in that direction!

Introducing "Easy Mode" Image Gen

Creating stunning art for your scenarios shouldn't feel like hard work. That is why we are launching Easy Mode! You can now generate high-quality images with minimal effort. No need to be a prompt wizard to get amazing results (though advanced models will still exist for those expert users). We are rolling out two versions:

  • Quick Create: Available for everyone! Get great images with little to no effort.

  • Quick Create Pro: Exclusive for our FictionLab+ users. This offers the highest quality images for your scenarios.

Chimera is Here to Stay

The community has spoken! The Chimera model has been a huge success, and we are thrilled to announce its full release. Because Chimera has been so well-received, it will graduate from the limited time status and will be replacing the old Riddleheart model. We have also made some small tweaks for the full launch:

  • Better OOC: Out of Character responses should now be responded to more reliably. Less ignoring the commands.

  • Better Consistency: The AI should "focus" better and give more consistent responses.

  • More Focus: We have worked on lessening hallucinations, so the model stays on track better.

Small Update: What's New on FictionLab?

While you were busy writing heart-melting romances, we've been hard at work under the hood. Check out these fresh updates to the platform:

  • Shiny New Login Page: We've spruced things up! You'll now see a rotating carousel featuring the best scenarios on FictionLab right when you arrive.

  • Discord Login is Here: No more typing out long passwords. You can now jump straight into the action by logging in or registering with your Discord account!

  • Smoother AI Conversations: We are so sorry for the recent outages you've experienced! We've been working hard to boost the stability of our models. This means outages should be lessened and response times should be much quicker.

  • Faster Loading: We tweaked the logic on the main page, so everything should feel snappier and load way quicker when you browse.

  • Fixed Folders: Folders were bugged and didn't load anything past 50 scenarios. This is now fixed and you can see the full content of your folders.

  • A Fairer Feed: To keep the "New & Rising" section fresh and give everyone a fair shot, creators can now have one scenario displayed there at a time. Only your newest work will show up. This helps prevent spam and encourages everyone to do quality over quantity!

FictionLab Update: Chimera Refined & Better Publishing

We have a fresh update rolling out today! We’ve spent some time tuning our experimental model and making the scenario creation process much smoother for everyone.

Chimera Further Improved

We have been closely monitoring the feedback on Chimera, and noticed a few things that needed fixing. We moved Chimera's base back to GLM 4.6 (from 4.7). The newer version seems to be a bit weaker when it comes to creative writing so this should result in better responses. We also tweaked a few other things with the model while maintaining the same tone so Chimera should feel much smarter, more coherent, and easier to read, while still keeping that spice you like.

New "Publishing Requirements" Checklist

Ever finish writing a scenario, hit save, and... it's still a draft? We fixed that guessing game. We have added a clear section to the scenario creation page that tells you exactly what is missing. If you don't meet the requirements to publish, this list will show you what you need to fix (and what could be improved). Until those boxes are checked, you can still save your work as a draft, but now you’ll know exactly what to do to get your story out to the world.

Profile Image Policy Update

We are making a change to how user profile images are displayed. Over the next few days, profile images (avatar, covers, backgrounds) that are sexually explicit or visually disturbing will be blurred. To be clear: This does not mean FictionLab is becoming a censored hellhole. We are simply making sure the platform remains approachable and pleasant to look at for users who aren't interested in that type of content. The content inside your chats and scenarios remains the same, but we are tidying up the place so users can select what content they want to see and not be flashed with goon content.

Other Fixes & Improvements

  • Subscription Control: You can now re-activate a cancelled PayPal subscription directly without contacting support.

  • Riddleheart Returns: Fixed a bug where the "Riddleheart" model wasn't selectable after the last Chimera update.

  • Mobile UI: Squashed several visual bugs on mobile devices to keep things looking clean on smaller screens.

  • Speed Up: improved loading speeds on various pages. Fixed stutters on sections that load many images.

FictionLab Update: New Chimera Model

We have something special cooking in the labs today. We are thrilled to introduce Chimera, a new experimental model available now!

What makes Chimera special?

Chimera is designed to hit a specific sweet spot between Oracle and Glendora. It excels at injecting fresh variety and unpredictability into the plot, but it keeps your characters strictly grounded to their definitions. It’s perfect for dynamic stories where the situation keeps changing, but you need the people involved to stay true to who they are. Because this is a limited beta experiment like Eidolon was for Oracle V3, there are a few things you should know before you dive in:

  • This isn't a final version. We are going to be actively tweaking Chimera based on your feedback to make sure it fits the community's tastes.

  • Chimera is also not fully stable yet. You might see outages or maintenance periods while we update the model and improve capacity.

We need you to test drive it and let us know what you think so we can tune it to perfection! Let us know what you think in Chimera (BETA) Feedback & Issues

New Feature: Scenario Drafts

You no longer need to finish your scenario in one sitting! We know that creativity doesn't always happen on a schedule. Now, if your scenario doesn't have all the required sections filled in yet, you can simply save it as a draft. You can close the app, take a break, and pick up exactly where you left off later. A scenario will save as a draft if you don't have all of the required fields filled.

Other Fixes & Improvements

Alongside the new model, we’ve squashed a bunch of bugs and smoothed out the experience:

  • Symbol Glitch Fixed: Fixed an annoying bug where symbols like &, <, and > were turning into weird code (encoded variants), which messed up character limits and editing on some fields.

  • UI Polish: Fixed issues where some elements, like the bounty list and load messages button, were hiding behind other parts of the app.

  • Mobile Editing: Fixed a keyboard issue that made editing characters difficult on certain mobile devices.

  • Performance Boost: The "Load All Messages" feature now loads 100 messages at a time instead of everything at once. This should stop those big lag spikes on lower-end devices.

  • Folder Visibility: Added a handy indicator to show you exactly when a scenario has been successfully added to a folder.

  • Custom Instructions: Fixed a bug where a chat's Custom LLM instructions stopped working properly if they went over 800 characters. (damn)

  • Fresh Featured Selection: We’ve updated the featured scenarios on the home page. More will be added in the near future.

Custom Folders & QoL Improvements

Hey everyone! We've got some exciting updates to share with you today!

Custom Scenario Folders

Folders are here! You can now organize your scenarios however you want by creating folders. Sort them by genre, mood, project, or whatever works for you. You can also choose which folders to display on your profile page so other users can check out your organized collections! This update allows you to fully customize what is shown on your overview section of your profile! We've also made some improvements to make creating easier. The toolbar in the intro editor now stays visible when you scroll down, so you don't have to keep scrolling back up to format your text. Quality of Life improvements: :constipated:

  • Added ability to remove cover image from your profile

  • Made comments not move positions when reacting

  • Made subscription pricing more clear on card payment to avoid subscribing to wrong plan

  • New "back to top" button on scenario pages for easy navigation on scenarios with long intros

Oracle V3 Out! Eidolon testing over + Other improvements

Hey everyone! We've got a big update rolling out today with some exciting new features and quality-of-life improvements!

Eidolon -> Oracle V3

The Eidolon testing period is over, and it has now officially become the new Oracle V3 model! Thank you for all your feedback during the testing phase, I hope you continue to enjoy the upgrade.

The new Oracle model responds more naturally with less pattern issues and fewer "LLMisms". Memory has been enhanced, and response times should be slightly faster. As the model is still very new, you may experience occasional slowness or other bugs, but we are working to make it more stable ASAP.

Other Improvements

  • Mobile Batch Actions: Added the ability to select and delete multiple chats on mobile.

  • UI Updates: Updated several UI elements (confirmation boxes, mobile long-press menus, etc.).

  • Bug Fixes: Fixed a small bug in comment reviews.

  • Notification Limits: Added a limit for user notifications (50). Oldest notifications will now be shifted out to make space for new ones.

  • Line Formatting: Added horizontal rule support to chats (---).

  • Suggested Choices: Improved the quality of suggested choices.

  • Auto-Scroll Fix: Fixed a bug where streamed responses wouldn't make chat auto-scroll to the bottom.

  • Profile Banners: Fixed an issue that caused profile banners to not always update.

  • Search Sorting: Fixed a sorting issue causing scenarios to not display in the proper order.

  • Mobile Fixes: Fixed keyboard issues for some devices in app.

Also I decided to just note here that we're aware of the recent Ophelia generation issues. It's being worked on, and will be fixed. You can use Default or Wraithmind in the mean time, if you're having trouble with it.

New Limited Model + More Chat Formatting

Hey everyone! We've got some exciting new features to share with you all today!

New Limited Time Model: Eidolon

We're rolling out a brand new experimental model called "Eidolon" for testing! Think of it as Oracle's future (but very experimental!) version. We've made some big changes under the hood and we're really curious to see what you all think. This is a limited time thing, so give it a spin and let us know your thoughts in <#1448378540969033758>! Your feedback will help us figure out what direction the community wants us to take things with the Oracle model.

Backtick Support

You can now use backticks in your chats! Whether you need single-line textblocks or

for indicating thoughts, internal dialogue, or just separating different segments in your messages, we've got you covered!

Bug Fixes

We also fixed a few annoying bugs from the last update. No more iPhone browsers crashing from GPU overload, fixed those weird overlaying issues, and took care of some other quirks that were causing problems.

As always, we'd love to hear what you think about these changes, especially Eidolon! Hope you enjoy the update!

Leaderboards, Badges & More! - FictionLab Update

Hello everyone! We've been cooking up something special, and it's finally ready. This update is all about recognition, competition, and discovery. Whether you're climbing the ranks, collecting badges, or just getting started in your scenario creation journey, this one's for you.

Ever feel like your other scenarios deserve more attention?

Introducing Trending Creators! It's a brand new section on the home page dedicated to showcasing creators who are blowing up right now. If you're gaining momentum, creating fire scenarios, and pulling in tons of views, this is your spotlight.

Leaderboards: Prove You're the Best

We've also added a full leaderboard system with multiple categories where you can flex your creative dominance:

  • Most Popular Creator - The crown. The ultimate flex.

  • Most Popular SFW Creator - For those keeping it clean and still crushing it.

  • Trending Creators - Rising stars who are on gaining a lot of views right now.

  • Most Active Users - The ones that never touch grass.

Hit the top of these boards and you'll earn exclusive ranking badges that show everyone you're not just good, you're elite. More categories will be added down the line.

If you want to hide your chronic addiction to FL, you can opt-out through settings and stay hidden.

Badge Glow-Up: New Badges, New Flex

Your badge collection just got a serious upgrade.

We've added multiple new badges like the Discord Link badge and overhauled existing badges like the FL+ badge! We also added a rarity system for the badge and improved the visibility and viewing experience of your badges.

But that's not all. Due to the increasing amount of badges on FL, we needed a place to showcase them. That place is now Badge Museum, a dedicated space showcasing every single badge available on FictionLab. Browse, admire, and get jealous of the ones you don't have yet. You know you want them all.

And here's the best part: you can now sort your badges in your user settings. Put your rarest, most exclusive badges front and center. This matters more than ever because the new upgraded user cards display your background image and your first 4 badges.

Other Changes & Improvements

We've been polishing the experience to make everything feel more premium:

  • General UI improvements - Updated multiple elements throughout the platform for a better user experience.

  • Upgraded user cards - Profiles look sleeker, show off your background, and your top 4 badges are front and center.

  • Better badge viewing - Easier to browse, admire, and flex your collection.

  • Mobile cover adjustments - The custom cover image on your profile page now renders in 2:1 aspect ratio on mobile (desktop stays 3:1). Make sure your covers look good on both!

  • Fixed UI sizing issues - No more tiny modals or cramped screens on certain devices. Everything should scale properly now. (fixed character editor being small on tablets)

  • Updated the placeholder image for scenario cards

  • Improved LYRA moderation. Doesn't flag comments as easily now

  • Enhanced badge display system throughout the platform

New Update: Advanced Content Filtering is Here!

Hey everyone! We're excited to announce a major new feature that gives you more control over your FictionLab experience!

Advanced Scenario Filtering is now live, allowing you to customize exactly what appears on your home page and feed. No more scrolling past gooner bots you're not interested in!

Here's what you can filter out:

  • Sexual scenarios

  • Violent scenarios

  • Gore scenarios

  • Dead dove scenarios

And the best part? You get to choose how strict your filter is! Set it to filter by cover image only for a lighter filtering, or with cover + story/prompts for maximum control. Plus, you decide how to handle filtered content:

  • Hide completely — filtered scenarios won't show up in your feed at all

  • Blur covers — see filtered scenarios but with blurred cover images

  • Blur until hover — covers stay blurred until you hover over them

You're able to select your content preferences when re-enabling mature content or through the user settings menu!

FictionLab Update - Glendora V4 & Translation Support Are Here!

Hello FictionLab community! We're excited to announce our latest update packed with features you've been requesting!

New Glendora V4 Model

Meet our newest FictionLab+ model - Glendora V4! This powerhouse combines the best of all worlds:

  • 📋 Sorcerer's precise instruction following

  • 🎨 Oracle's boundless creativity

  • ❤️ Riddleheart's emotional depth

Glendora V4 uses an advanced expert system to deliver a perfectly balanced experience that adapts to your storytelling needs! - I would also love feedback on this model as we can tune it to fit your preferences even better!

Upgraded Default Model

Great news for all free users! Our default model has received a major upgrade with significantly improved coherence and instruction understanding. Behind the scenes, it now uses a similar expert system architecture as Glendora V4, ensuring you get the most out of every interaction! (Paid models are still way better obviously )

Message Translation Support

The feature many of you been waiting for is finally here! You can now translate your messages into 40+ languages. After translating just a few messages, Glendora V4 will seamlessly continue the conversation in your chosen language. Other models support this too, though results may vary.

Subscription Pricing Changes

As FictionLab continues to grow and evolve, we're updating our pricing structure to ensure we can keep delivering the high-quality AI models you love. With increasing server costs and the rapidly advancing AI landscape, we're bringing all existing FictionLab+ subscriptions to the current price of €6.99/month. We will also be adjusting the USD price of the subscription to 7.99$ / month to reflect the rate of USD/EUR better. These changes will take effect when your subscription renews again.

This change mostly affects longtime users who were still on our earlier cheaper pricing tiers (some were still on the original 4$). While we know price changes are never easy, this adjustment was necessary to maintain the larger models that FictionLab offers today. The previous pricing was made with 70B models in mind while today's models are 600B+. I'm sure most of you will understand and realize that the value FictionLab+ gives is still unmatched.

Additional Changes

  • Custom Chat Backgrounds: FictionLab+ users can now upload their own backgrounds for the chats!

  • Expanded creativity: Story card trigger word limit increased from 5 to 10

  • Better control: Stop generation mid-chat to save time!

  • Customizable experience: Adjust stream typing animation speed in chat menu

  • Quick workflow: You can now duplicate scenarios from the edit page

  • Improved Reporting: You can now input a reason when reporting scenarios/users

  • More Sorting Options: You can now sort by reversed alphabet and by oldest

  • Bug fixes: Following notifications now link correctly, default color resets properly save to cloud, user character image now saves properly, etc.

  • Model fixes: Last few quirks of the new provider should now be ironed out. (default model weird refusals, Oracle talking for you, etc.)

Image Generation Update Part 2 - Prompting Made Easy!

Exciting news, FictionLab creators! We've further improved the image generation features to bring you even better results!

Prompt Enhancer Overhaul

No more prompt engineering headaches! Our revamped prompt enhancer now automatically optimizes your prompts for better results. Just describe what you want, and let our system handle the model specific prompting. This means you will get perfect images without needing to master complex prompting techniques!

🔧 Technical Improvements

  • New sampling methods added a few more samplers to the list. Biggest change is the "Default" sampler that picks the best sampler for the model automatically!

  • Higher resolution outputs now available for free tier users (from 728x728 to 1024x1024) - better quality for everyone!

  • Flux models are now fully operational - the models had some issues after the last update but they should be fixed now!

Below are some examples of the prompt enhancer doing its magic and turning a sub-optimal prompt into an actually decent image. Bottom one is with it disabled (if you didn't somehow realize )
