An OOC (Out of Character) command is a way for a user to step outside the roleplay and communicate as themselves, rather than as their persona. This is useful for clarifying intentions, asking questions, setting boundaries, or giving context that doesn’t belong in the narrative.

Purpose of [OOC:] Commands:

1. Clarification: Allows users to ask questions about the setting, rules, characters, or recent events that aren’t clear from the narrative or backstory.

2. Guidance: Gives direction to the AI or other characters, such as requesting more description, suggesting a plot twist, or asking for options.

3. Boundaries: Enables users to set personal comfort zones or content limits, such as asking to avoid graphic content or intense themes.

4. Corrections: Lets users revise, or clarify something they said or did by mistake. (instead of rewinding to the message, you can correct it.)

5. Character Control: Permits switching characters, asking about characters, or changing character actions without assuming them in-story.

6. Meta Communication: Provides space to talk about mechanics, pacing, tone, or genre without disrupting immersion.

7. Learning: Encourages user to ask for help with how the story works, what the AI can do, or how to interact properly.

8. Testing Ideas: Gives a way to propose or experiment with actions, twists, or alternate outcomes before committing in character.

9. Summaries and Recaps: Allows a user to request a brief summary or state check to understand where they are in the story and give quick points as to what has happened thus far.

10. Questions: Allows a user to directly ask questions about anything directly to the AI without breaking character.

Examples of [OOC:] commands:

[OOC: Please describe the room in more detail before I decide what to do]

→ Asks for a more detailed setting or sensory description.

[OOC: Is my character allowed to use magic here, or is it restricted?]

→ Questions the world’s rules or mechanics.

[OOC: Please reintroduce the character (name). I forgot who they are and why they matter.]

→ Requests clarification or a reminder about a character.

[OOC: Can you summarize what’s happened so far in the story in bullet points?]

→ Requests a quick recap of the story to reorient the user or just tell you whats happened thus far.

At times, while using [OOC:] commands the replying message is too long, do not click on the continue button, as this will resume the story and not the previous OOC message. To continue the previous message from OOC, you must type [OOC: continue], or change the length of the replies to "Long"
